Welcome to the Peninsula Ramblers The Peninsula Ramblers Hiking
Club is based in Cape Town, South Africa. The Club is run by
volunteers and would not exist without the support and participation of
its members. Our aim is simple: to get out into the fresh air and beauty of
our magnificent Cape mountains – and beyond – as often as possible, while at
the same time doing whatever we can to help protect the pristine areas we
visit. How to join the Ramblers: Once you've completed three hikes as
a visitor, send your completed application form to the Club secretary. You'll
need to have a proposer and a seconder, one of whom should be a
member of the Executive Committee. Click here
to download the application form and here
to download the hike rules. Take the form with you on a hike and ask
the leader and / or your fellow hikers to propose and second you.
Please attach a photo to the form (it helps the Committee identify
prospective members at their meetings) and include the application fee and
applicable annual membership fee - see below - with the form. In the
unlikely event of your application being turned down, these will be refunded
to you. Applicants are discussed at Committee meetings so approval
could take a while as the Committee only meets four or five times a year. Membership is open to persons
aged 15 years and over. Children over 12, accompanied by a responsible
adult, are considered as family members and may take part in any half-day
hikes, unless otherwise specified, and as long as the leader is in agreement. Membership fees: Application fee:
R20.00 Annual membership
(single): R50.00 Annual membership
(family): R70.00 If applying for membership between 1
October and 31 March annually, half the annual membership fee is
payable. Membership fees are due by 31 March annually. Banking Details: Peninsula Ramblers Standard

programme and newsletter three times a year and, for those who have
access to the Internet, any additional news by email between
programmes. Members may attend any Club hike or social and our
annual year-end function. Most of the hikes and socials are free
of charge, but we do also do permit hikes from time to time and some of
the socials may have a cost implication. |
